My sister-in-law treated me to an evening of theater on a recent visit to St. Louis. I’ve seen Joseph three times, and each production is better. Way back in the mid-80’s my nieces came to visit their auntie in the big city and we went to see Joseph at the Studebaker Theater. I remember the seats in the upper boxes looking directly down at the stage. The girls were enchanted—and Joseph remains a great introduction to theater for young people. To this day, the girls can sing every word of the score.
As years have progressed, the production has become saucier and now includes some hip-hop. All great fun. Most all the performers were Actors Equity, appearing by special permission. So, thank you all for bringing such an enjoyable production to neighborhood theater and thank you, Mary K for a memorable evening.
